The Recreation & Wellness Center is located across the lake from the academic buildings and houses many amenities for students to enjoy including over 12,000 square feet of workout space on two levels to include strength training equipment (free weights and machines), cardio equipment, indoor track and two aerobic rooms for group fitness activity. Other amenities include an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, two court gyms, two gaming stations with Xbox One and PS4, and two racquetball/squash courts. The recreation and intramural program offers various sports leagues, tournaments, free play, and trips such as hiking and professional sports games. The Recreation & Wellness Center front desk is the place to sign up for the fitness center or register for intramural sports and recreation trips. To join, students must sign a liability waiver. Walk-ins are always welcome! A valid MGA ID is required to utilize the Recreation & Wellness Center facilities and activities.
Cochran Campus: (478) 934-3125
This Wellness Center hosts a wide array of indoor/outdoor activity spaces including an outdoor pool with a maximum depth of twelve feet, two recreational fields for activities ranging from softball to soccer, three tennis courts, six pickleball courts and an outdoor sand volleyball pit. The indoor space in Cochran houses ten selectorized activity units, a quad tower for a variety of selectorized exercises, a space for the plate-loaded (free weight) fitness experience, over twenty cardiovascular pieces including stair climbers, treadmills, ellipticals, and rowers. Cochran offers a small functional fitness space, a dance and group fitness space, an indoor track, and a multi-purpose court space equipped for volleyball, basketball, badminton, and indoor soccer. Cochran also offers a gaming space and space for soft recreational activities like billiards and table tennis. A valid Knight Card is required for entry. The Center includes a gymnasium with elevated walking track, a fitness center, aerobics room, and student activity center with video games, pool tables, and ping pong tables as well as dining services.
Dublin & Warner Robins Campuses:
Our satellite locations in Dublin and Warner Robins are technology-driven spaces that host multi activity recovery stations (M.A.R.S.). These touch screen stations allow the user to access over 600 individual exercises, 25 individual pieces, and over 45 full workouts, with guided on-screen demonstrations. The spaces also allow for a cardiovascular workout with one or more Precor BP-TRM731 treadmills with speed/ascension controls. Dublin also has outdoor spaces that offer pickle ball, basketball, and outdoor group fitness space. Warner Robins has access to Houston County Parks and Recreational spaces.
Eastman Campus:
The Eastman campus is currently under construction and will host selectorized (pin-loaded) strength stations to include a Precor resolute lat pull down machine, a Precor resolute chin/dip station and a Precor resolute dual adjustable pulley station. This space will also host six free weight (plate loaded) pieces to include leg press, hip thrust, glute builders, dead lifts, chest and shoulder press, and a station for seated rows. In addition, the space will contain the most advanced cardiovascular machines to include the Assault Fitness Air rower, Assault Fitness Air bike, Precor EFX885 TB Elliptical, the Precor SCL895 Climber, the Precor TRM895 treadmill and the newly released Precor 897 slatted treadmill. This space will be rounded out with stretching and functional products like the multi activity recovery strength pack, a high intensity interval training functional frame with a variety of accessories that allows the user to add variety and intensity to their workouts.
